We were excited to be part of this important international tourism event, connecting with partners across Asia and strengthening our network within Korea. We welcomed guests from Korea and shared the beauty, culture, and unique travel experiences of Georgia.

It was a great opportunity to present Georgia to a global audience and build new connections in the travel industry.

The program covered key topics such as digital challenges for guides, risk management, sustainable tourism challenges, and responsibilities on family tours.

Led by Director Alexander Mamulashvili, along with senior team members, the sessions included practical discussions and experience sharing, reinforcing the company’s commitment to delivering high-quality tour experiences.

VisitGeorgia participated in ITB Berlin 2025, the world’s largest travel trade show, in Hall 11.2 at Stand 107/110, presenting authentic Georgian travel experiences and services to the global travel industry.

Excellence in Sustainability

VisitGeorgia has become the first company in Georgia to achieve Travelife Certified status, an internationally recognized sustainability certification for the travel sector.

Our 28 years of hard work have been recognized, and we are honored to join the Travelife team.

The Travelife Certified award is a recognition of our excellence in social and environmental sustainability. This achievement makes VisitGeorgia the first tour operator in the Caucasus to earn Travelife Certified status.

Mr. Naut Kusters, Manager of Travelife for tour operators, commented:

“I am delighted to see that sustainability in the tour operators’ sector is obtaining momentum. The award of VisitGeorgia will inspire other companies in Georgia to follow the same path.”

Travelife is a three-stage certification program for tour operators and travel agents: (1) Travelife Engaged; (2) Travelife Partner; and (3) Travelife Certified. We are at the final stage – Travelife Certified.

We are proud to be the first in the Caucasus region to reach this level of sustainability, reflecting our long-term commitment to responsible tourism.

What Does This Mean for Travelers?

From January 1, 2026, every tourist entering the territory of Georgia must present a health and accident insurance policy that meets the following requirements:

• The insurance policy must be presented in physical or electronic form
• The policy must be available in Georgian or English
• The minimum insurance coverage must be no less than 30,000 GEL
• The insurance must cover the entire period of stay in Georgia, from arrival to departure
• The policy may be issued by a Georgian or foreign insurance company

Mandatory Information in the Insurance Policy

The insurance policy must include the following details:

• Parties to the insurance contract
• Covered territory
• Subject of insurance
• Start and end dates of insurance coverage
• Insured risks
• Insurance coverage amount (limits)
• Insurance premium amount, payment place, and payment terms

Important to Know

Tourists must ensure that their health and accident insurance is valid for the full duration of their stay in Georgia, including both entry and exit dates.

Who Is Exempt from Mandatory Insurance?

The following individuals are exempt from this requirement:

• Holders of diplomatic and special visas
• Holders of diplomatic, official, service, or special passports
• Accredited employees of diplomatic missions, consular offices, and international organizations, as well as their accredited family members
• Persons entering Georgia under international treaties or agreements
• Drivers involved in international road freight and passenger transportation

We were excited to participate in ITB Berlin 2025, one of the world’s leading travel trade shows. It was a pleasure to welcome visitors at Hall 11.2, Stand 107 or 110 from March 4-6, and we are delighted with the success of the exhibition!

VisitGeorgia successfully participated in BIT Milan 2025 from February 9-11! Our stand was located in Hall 9P, Stands G07 G11 H08 H12.

Mariam has been working in tourism since 2021 and joined our company in 2023.

With many years of experience as a guide and tour leader for European, British, and American companies, Mariam brings valuable expertise to our team. A lawyer by profession, she also has a strong background in sustainability. Since 2024, she has been actively involved in developing and implementing VisitGeorgia’s sustainability policy.

We are confident that Mariam will make a significant contribution not only to the company’s sustainable development but also to promoting sustainable tourism in Georgia.
