David Gareja Monastery
The complex is located in the semi-desert and consists of 19 monasteries. The painted caves of Udabno Monastery look out over a starkly beautiful landscape of striated valleys and windswept ridges giving stunning views over to neighboring Azerbaijan.

Lagodekhi Preserve 
Lagodekhi with diverse climate zones is the best place to plan the weekend. It characterized by a humid subtropical climate. The territory offers you tourist attractions, including visiting waterfalls and ancient fortresses.

Tour schedule example

Day 1: Arrival

Arrive in Tbilisi and transfer to the hotel. 

Day 2: Tbilisi

After a late breakfast, we start our Tbilisi sightseeing tour to get acquainted with the city. Walking through the historical part of the city and enjoying the unique combination of cultures. Meandering through the narrow streets of the city we will come-across various religious buildings: Churches, Synagogues, Mosques, Wooden houses built in the 19th century with colourful balconies, sulphur baths, the Narikala fortress.

Next, we take in the Georgian National Museum, where a great many intricate Georgian treasures are preserved. To finish up this introduction to the city we peruse Rustaveli Avenue which is the main central boulevard.

The rest of the day is left for exploring Tbilisi further, tasting wine in one of the many wine-bars, and getting acquainted with Georgian cuisine in one of the many great restaurants in the city centre.

Day 3: Tbilisi - David Gareja - Kvareli

Today we head to the east to see semi-desert, which will amaze us with its amazing landscape and breathtaking space. We will see the rock carved complex of Davit Gareja. This ancient complex dates back to the 6th century.

Completely unique frescoes are still preserved in the caves. The panorama unfolding from here is especially impressive. We can enjoy the amazing landscape of the vast for a long time.

After a few hours of walk, we will leave for Kvareli.

(↑↓250m, 1.5-3.5 hours, 9.5km).

Day 4: Kvareli - Lagodekhi Reserve - Kvareli

Today we will visit the protected areas of Lagodekhi, one of the most well-preserved, primitive, wild natural landscapes in the world. Lagodekhi State Reserve is the first protected area in Georgia, it was established in 1912.

We walk on the dirt path leading to the forest, as well as on the river bed. The trail is fully marked. The marking lines can be easily seen on both trees and stones.

At the end of the route, in a slightly misty gorge, the forty-meter-high Ninoskhevi waterfall falls in front of us. To see this beauty of nature was definitely worth a visit to the reserve.

In the evening, we will return pleasantly tired to Kvareli.

Day 5: Kvareli - Abano Pass - Omalo

In the morning we will follow the road to the fairyland Tusheti. Getting to know Tusheti starts from the road, which with its beauty and extremeness adds extra charm to the region.

Unique cultural heritage monuments, ancient settlements, folk handicrafts, or items of ancient culture are still preserved in Tusheti.

We have lunch in the village of Omalo, which is the administrative centre of Tusheti region. For lunch, we will taste authentic Tushetian cuisine.

At the end of the day, we will visit the castle-village of Keselo, built in the 18th century. An exciting day ends in Omalo with an unusually beautiful night.

Day 6: Omalo - Shenako - Diklo - Omalo

We drive to Shenako, one of the oldest and most impressive villages in Tusheti. The village on the hill immediately fascinates us with its typical Tushetian towers and houses.

From here we walk along the valley, which is surrounded by pine trees on both sides. The road leads to the village of Diklo, where only a few families live.

From the village, you can see the moss-covered castle and old Diklo, which is associated with many stories and legends.

In the evening we will return to Omalo.

Shenako – Diklo (↑ 380m ↓ 225m, 2 hours,  6km).

Day 7: Omalo - Dartlo - Kvavlo - Dano - Parsma - Omalo

In the morning we visit the village Dartlo, which is a distinctive pearl of Tusheti. The local towers and wooden houses built of slate are the most beautiful architectural ensemble.

From here we go to the village of Kvavlo, where we will also see many towers and sacred places. We will pass Dano and arrive in Parsma, where in addition to the ancient Tushetian towers and the churches, we will also be fascinated by local icons that were left on the towers centuries ago.

Seeing this beauty fills us with amazing sensations and leaves us feeling as if a centuries-old history is unfolding before us.

We finish our day in Omalo.

Dartlo – Kvavlo (↑ 320m, 1 hour, 2.2km).

Kvavlo – Chesho (↑ 300m ↓ 500m, 1.40 hours, 6km).

Day 8: Omalo - Bochorna - Omalo

Today prepares us for another, very special sight. We will visit one of the highest villages in Europe, Bochorna, which is located at an altitude of 2345 meters above sea level.

This village has only one resident who does not leave his house even in winter. Medieval towers, wildflowers, sacred places, and unique panoramic views leave an indelible impression on the visitors.

(↑ 610m ↓ 720m, 3.5 hours).

Day 9: Omalo - Telavi - Tbilisi

In the morning we leave Tusheti and drive to Kakheti region.

A visit to Kakheti is incomplete without a local family dinner. The kindness of the hosts, the immediacy, the taste of homemade dishes and wine create special emotions around the table.

After lunch, we will visit a wine cellar in one of the villages near Telavi, where we will taste natural wines placed in a clay pot by the traditional method.

The Georgian traditional method of making wine has the status of a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Site.

Pleasantly obscured by wine, we will return to the capital – Tbilisi. We will spend the last evening of the trip in Tbilisi.

Day 10: Departure

Transfer to the airport and departure.
